SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTOR

CNA PROGRAM

(PART-TIME TEMPORARY POSITION)

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Supplemental Instructor will be a member of the Health Careers instructional team for the purpose of providing educational support services to students in the Health Certified Nurse Aide program. The Supplemental Instructor assists students in overcoming their educational barriers in the CNA technical skills as well as reading, math, and communications skills.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

A supplemental instructor may assist a permitted nurse aide trainer if the supplemental instructor is a licensed health professional with one year of experience in the field that he or she is licensed in and under the supervision of a permitted nurse aide trainer.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Review, re-teach, and/or reinforce technical instruction.
  2. Provide remedial math and reading assistance related to the technical content of the training program.
  3. Assist students in the development of their personal management skills.
  4. Assist students in school-to-work transition skills development.
  5. Assist with clinical skill training and practice in the lab.
  6. Provide clinical skill training support at the clinical site under the supervision of the primary instructor.

 

RELATED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assist with student management activities.
  2. Assist with classroom/lab organization and maintenance activities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION LEVEL: Associate degree or LPN Certificate

 

REQUIRED SKILL SET:      Teamwork

                                             Problem Solving/Troubleshooting

                                             Good written and verbal communication

                                             Self-managed, requires minimal supervision

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Employment Date:              Upon completion of background check and drug screen

Length of Contract:             Temporary

Salary:                                $25.00/hour
